declutter your wardrobe

“how do I achieve a capsule wardrobe?”

Wouldn’t we all like to open our wardrobes and find a super organised, tidy, clean space filled with high-quality garments in beautiful colours that all match and work together? How wonderful would it be to spend less time searching for an outfit, feeling no stress, and having the confidence of knowing exactly what to put together? Then, as you look at yourself in the mirror, you can love what you see, with your confidence soaring high.

This is achievable for all of us, so what’s the problem?

·        You feel overwhelmed with not knowing where to start

·         You don’t have the know-how

·         You don’t know what to keep and what to throw away

·         You don’t know what suits you

·         You have so many clothes and can’t see the wood through the trees

·         You don’t know how to put things together

At spring styling, we have organised people’s wardrobes for over sixteen years.

We possess extensive training in wardrobe management and dressing individuals. We have established a process that we follow, which requires time and patience. When executed, it results in a beautifully arranged wardrobe that is organised and reflects the client's lifestyle and personality.

before

clothes on the stool, the wrong colours

This is an excellent example of a transformed wardrobe declutter. My client had the full-step process, starting with the foundations of colour and style. We undertook a couple of wardrobe declutters to clear out the wrong colours and styles that did not align with her style preference, colouring and body shape. After compiling a list of items needed to complete her capsule wardrobe, we hit the shops to fill in the gaps. With time and patience, we finally completed an array of fabulous clothes and styles that complement her lifestyle and personality. It was a joy to do!

how does it work…

We begin by discussing your needs and objectives over the phone or via Google Meet. Based on this information, we will guide you towards the best-tailored wardrobe consultation. Once you agree to proceed, we will schedule a date in the diary and commence this new journey together.

We will ask you to complete some homework. This exercise is not only for us but also for you. It's an opportunity to reflect on your current style, fashion goals, and any challenges you may encounter. This will enable us to better understand who you are and your struggles and how we can assist you in reaching your ultimate goal.

Depending on how many clothes you have, the client either brings their clothes to the studio in Exeter or we go to them.  This also makes a difference in having a minimum of three hours of decluttering or a full day.

what we offer

1. BASIC DECLUTTER

This is a great starting point, where we remove everything from your wardrobe, drawers, etc., and go through a basic process, resulting in a more organised, tidy wardrobe. We help you put your clothes and shoes into bags to go to charity or throw out.

2. WARDROBE MANAGEMENT

Here, we examine the current spaces for your clothes and shoes, offering suggestions to enhance these areas for a more organised environment. We discuss lighting, hanging space, and shelving to create a more straightforward, more organised space, removing stress and making it easier visually when searching for outfits.

3. COLOUR and STYLE WARDROBE WEED

This consultation follows a client's colour and style consultation. This is a fun, practical stage where we work together to eliminate the colours and styles that do not suit and consider clothes that require adjustments. We sort them into piles for charity, tailoring, recycling, or giving to friends. We put the garments that work back in the wardrobe, assessing what is lacking for a successful capsule wardrobe. We make a list of what is needed.

4. OUTFIT BUILDING

This is the final piece of the puzzle and where the fun begins. After presenting you with a personal theory of colour and style, tidying up your wardrobe, assessing your needs, and possibly making shopping trips to find the garments and accessories, we engage in a practical hands-on experience, demonstrating how to put it all together and finalise great looks. Photos of the outfits are taken and sent to you for reference.

  • "Congratulations Maggi you worked your magic! Accumulating six wardrobes of clothes, I had lost my way and needed help. Over two days, Maggi helped me with colour, style, and eliminated one hundred and fifty garments that were not suitable for me.  I now have a newfound knowledge about myself and find shopping exciting and productive.  My self-confidence has gone through the roof.  My daughters are hugely impressed, the local charity shops are delighted, and my long-suffering husband has a new wife after 57 years! I am so grateful!"

    Judith Stephenson, Newton Ferrers, Plymouth

  • “It is a pleasure to open the wardrobe and now see beautiful clothes hanging on the rail. I have colours that suit me, styles that make the very best of my figure and there are so many combinations from just a few well-chosen clothes. I have a confidence that I haven’t had in years, all thanks to Maggi.”

    Clare Prideaux, Exeter

  • "Loved my style and wardrobe session with Maggi. After a long time focusing on my career, I wanted to regain a sense of self and build a small wardrobe of outfits that I would help me feel like me, would be quick and easy and give me a sense of confidence that I was looking my best. Maggi was very welcoming and interested in taking time to get to know me so that the whole session felt very personal and tailored. Maggi has a wealth of knowledge and a passion for what she does and an engaging approach that made the session relaxing and fun".

    Sarah - South Devon

  • "Thank you so very much for your time, energy and inspiration. I loved every minute of it! I can’t believe how different I feel, as if a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Wearing black is going to be a massive turning point for me, but I’m already visualising myself in the coming weeks working on my new favourites, and that’s exciting. So, a big thank you again for today".

  • "After university I wanted to update my wardrobe to look like a young professional. To discover my style and learn what outfits would compliment my figure. I am really glad I found Maggi – she introduced me to my colours and showed me my styles. Our sessions were excellent -10/10 and I had great fun shopping with the list she gave me from the wardrobe consultation. I’m thrilled to know more about my personal brand and style, I feel more confident and attractive and can only say that I wish I had done this earlier!"

    Tamara B-P - Barnstaple

  • “Not only did our session rejuvenate my wardrobe, but it also revealed how much money I wasted! However, I left feeling more positive about my potential to create outfits and excited to update my hair for a total makeover”.

    Sue Dobson, Cornwall

  • "It is amazing how the years go by and things slip. I had too many clothes, felt stressed not knowing how to put something together, and kept buying and seriously wasting money. Maggi took action and removed the rubbish from my cupboards. What a relief. You have got to see Maggi; she is honest and professional – just brilliant!”

    Caroline, Beer, Devon

  • “I found the assessment of my body shape and style personality interesting and helpful. Maggi was strict with my wardrobe, providing suggestions for filling its gaps, including shops and websites. My experience with Maggi was genuinely worthwhile and enjoyable. My interest in clothing has been rekindled, and I feel more confident expressing my style."
